Gerald Meck and North Group Consultants have been announced for an interim executive leadership engagement. North Group Consultants, founded in 1997, is a Lititz-based firm focused on developing leaders and their organizations to their highest potential. North Group has a celebrated history of helping private sector and nonprofit organizations navigate hope-filled transitions for the good of their respective communities.
This engagement is in response to the Board’s decision to have President Jack Eans step into a new role as International President. This transition will position Jack to fully utilize his 30+ years of nonprofit and orphan care experience to expand Horizon’s international presence, programs and operations.
Gerald Meck, along with executive support from Natalie Mease, will seek to serve Horizon in seamlessly bridging the gap to a new CEO structure and new direction for our organization. Gerald will serve as Interim CEO and provide ongoing leadership to the North American team to accomplish operational needs. He will also seek to lead us forward in supporting future leadership succession. Gerald and Natalie will help to manage operations and position the North American team for the next level of service to our stakeholders and a greater impact to orphaned children and families around the world.
Gerald brings over 40 years of executive leadership experience in nonprofit organizations. He is the former President and CEO of United Disabilities Services, where he served in that position for 26 years. Gerald holds a B.S. in Sociology and Psychology from Eastern Mennonite University and a M.Ed. from Millersville University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Management Institute at Columbia University. Gerald is currently the Chairman of the Board for Diamond Street Early Childhood Center and serves on several other nonprofit Boards.
