STORIES OF INSPIRATION AND EMPOWERMENT

A MORAL MURAL

Younger children at Casa de Esperanza are growing — and they’ve got leaves to prove it. Clarita, Ammy and Crissly joined other young children in the community for time of learning all about personal values — think respect, friendship, honesty, patience and more. Following this lesson, the children each received a paper leaf with one of these values written on it, and went wild with markers and finger paints!

Clarita swirled red and blue paint around “amistad” (friendship) and Ammy smeared yellows and greens around “honestidad” (honesty). When the children finished, a staff member collected the artwork and hung all the leaves together to create a “tree” of values! That way, the children can see their work hanging up and be reminded to value “respeto,” “honestidad” and more.

It’s a beautiful (and colorful) reminder!
