NEED & IMPACT
The Micro Community in Zacapa currently has no Impact Investment projects of its own. The Aldea el Socorro Farm is designed to ultimately sustain operations here, however there is space on-site for small-scale farming. The selling of eggs is one such business that requires very little space or investment. Building off of the current hen house, this initiative will generate enough income to cover 13% of all operating expenses at this Micro Community. This, combined with our on-site solar panels, will increase overall operational sustainability to 17%. In addition, this venture will enable us to teach business principles, hands on learning, and job experience to the older youth that call Casa de Esperanza their home.
