STAFF ACCOUNTANT
LANCASTER, PA

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant will successfully perform accounting functions including general ledger entry, preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliation, and assisting with budgets. Additionally, this position will be responsible to lead various human resource functions such as payroll, benefits administration, and corporate compliance. The ideal candidate will enjoy proactively finding solutions and bring a positive, “can-do” spirit to the team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with a third-party accounting firm to process bookkeeping and all accounting functions.

Prepare monthly statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

Maintain the general ledger, updating QuickBooks and Salesforce.

Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address bank inquiries.

File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

Assist with annual budget process and maintenance.

Provide support to the international finance team.

Process bi-monthly corporate payroll.

Manage and update Payroll/HR software (Gusto) to reflect accurate employee records.

Coordinate and manage Horizon employee benefits in partnership with the third-party group-benefit provider.

Create and maintain employee files, including processing new-hire onboarding documentation.

Update and maintain Horizon employee handbook.

Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting and HR software systems.

Recommend updates to enhance systems, as necessary.

Assist with accounting and HR audit processes.

Serve as a liaison with vendors and external partners, positively representing Horizon in all communication.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

Proficient in accounting/tax software. QuickBooks and Salesforce experienced, desired.
