CORPORATE OPERATIONS MANAGER
Lancaster PA, or Remote with travel.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Operations Manager will work with deep understanding of the work of Horizon: Empower the Orphaned supporting operations across various functions including executive management, fundraising, communications, finance and administration. The Operations Manager will report to the Corporate President but will work collaboratively with all corporate departments to provide support. This position will manage operations functions including but not limited to logistics support, scheduling, expense reporting, contracts management, interfacing and negotiation with vendors, budget management and/or support, meeting management and facilitation, notes and activity management for the CEO and other department leaders as needed. This position is the go-to person to trouble shoot and problem solve any operational issue that arises and needs both immediate attention and/or long-term system or functional management system developed and maintained.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years’ job-related experience

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

At least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.

Written and spoken Spanish language skills.

HEAD OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

POSITION SUMMARY

Oversight of all accounting, procurement, budget and human resource functions in the United States, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and in collaboration with Canada affiliate.

 

The Head of Finance and Administration will build and lead a team of professionals to service the organization through financial management, reporting, human resources administration and contract management. He/she will develop and implement processes and procedures for both domestic and international regions related to finance, human resources and contract management. The Head of Finance and Administration will oversee the collection and maintenance of financial information in the various systems and will be responsible for all internal and external reporting of financial information. The Head of Finance and Administration will utilize accurate financial reporting and analytics to assist the executive team with strategic planning and evaluation. He/she will ensure compliance with all applicable finance and human resource related laws and regulations. This position will work with different teams across Corporate and the field including programs and partners.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

Five (5) years’ job-related experience in a managerial finance role.

Proficient knowledge of accounting and financial procedures; and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with Non-Profit GAAP accounting.

Knowledge of Human Resources functionalities.

Experience with working with an international team.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

Audit experience.

 

MOST CRITICAL PROFICIENCIES:

Proven record of ability to produce clear financial GAAP reports.

Proven ability to use analytics of financial data to drive organizational and project level decisions from strategy to design and implementation.

HEAD OF IMPACT INVESTING

POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of Impact Investing will identify and train a global technical team to 1) develop a board-approved strategy to optimize financial and social returns on investments, 2) link investments to social returns, especially, in child empowerment and family strengthening, 3) enhance local social enterprise operations to build economic growth within communities where Horizon children and families reside, 4) drive profit margins on social enterprises to off-set programmatic operational costs, and 5) identify and manage innovative investment deals that unlock the potential of our target groups and/or provide a profit margin to substantially cover operational expenses.

 

The Head of Impact Investing will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team partnering to give direction to the organizational trajectory for growth and working closely with the Impact and Analytics team to link investment ROIs and SROIs to Horizon participants, with the Finance and Administration team to show how investments can cover operational expenses, and the International programs team to ensure that investments are aligned to programmatic needs.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree in Finance, MBA, Agroeconomics, Statistics or a related field within international development 

Ten (10) years’ job-related experience in impact investing or finance related MSME’s related to NGO programming and a minimum of 5 years of experience with supervisory oversight of staff. 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Ten (10) years’ job-related experience in impact investing as it related to NGO programming and 15 years of experience in international programming with major donors. 

Spanish language proficiency to work directly with field teams on project design and implementation. 

Work in agricultural value chains and emerging market investment needs. 

 

MOST CRITICAL PROFICIENCIES:

Constant face-to-face, telephone and electronic communication with colleagues and the public.

May require constant sitting and moving, working at a computer for extended periods.

Ability to assign and review the work of team members, as well as motivate and engage them.
