REGIONAL DIRECTOR – LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN
Location: Latin America
Reports to:  CEO

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Director of LAC, leads the country teams in LAC in developing annual work plans and operating budgets to achieve organizational goals in both child development and impact investing.  The Regional Director has direct oversight of the Country Directors and provides both operational and programmatic direction.  The Regional Director collaborates closely with organizational department leads to ensure country execution is aligned to organizational processes, policies, standards and programmatic excellence.  Departments include Finance and Administration, Impact and Analytics, Impact Investing, Child Development, Marketing and Development and Global Strategy.  This position is responsible for representing Horizon within the LAC region for cultivation of partnerships and/or donor or investor funds. This position also identifies new countries of operation and manages start-up in new countries of operation.  

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree in International Development, Finance, MBA, Agroeconomics, or a related field within international development

Ten (10) years’ job-related experience leading teams in finance and administration and/or programmatic execution, and a minimum of 5 years of experience with supervisory oversight of staff.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Ten (10) years’ job-related experience in programming as it related to NGOs.

Five (5) years’ job related experience in finance and administration as it relates to NGOs. 

English language proficiency to work directly with field teams on project design and implementation.

Work in agricultural value chains and emerging market investment needs.

Work in profit making projects and environment will be an added advantage.

 

MOST CRITICAL PROFICIENCIES:

Proven record of building and leading teams for similar organizations.

Proven record of identifying partner, donor, and investor networks to partner with shared values alignment.

Proven ability to be an innovative and creative dealmaker with investment capital.

Proven ability to partner with others on impact analytics and linking investment potential to not only financial, but also social and environmental returns.

Well-grounded in the disciplines of data analysis, analytical tools, modeling, and reporting applied to project design and implementation in international development.

Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple developments and working with many teams.

Excellent presentation skills to internal and external audiences.

Fluency in Spanish required and ability to travel to field sites.

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST
Location: Remote
Reports to:  Creative Director

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Media Strategist (SMS) will be working with various departments to increase Horizon Empowers web traffic as well as brand awareness by developing and implementing effective social media strategies that will grow Horizon’s online presence. The SMS must be capable of expressing Horizon Empowers vision clearly and creatively on all social media channels, while maintaining brand consistency, and will collaborate closely with the Creative Director to generate collateral and messaging required to build brand profile via social media platforms.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Develop social media strategies and execution plans. (34%)

i. Collaborate with Horizon’s Creative Director to create an overarching social media strategy
ii. Develop weekly, quarterly and annual goals with targets and corresponding strategies
iii. Ideate, assign, and oversee social media campaigns to achieve set goals.
iv. Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and practices.
v. Plan and schedule social media content.

Develop and deploy content (62%)

i. Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to cover the target audiences.
ii. Coordinate with Creative Director, Marketing and Development Director and Content Coordinator to create quality content daily.
iii. Work closely with the team of designers and copywriters to produce engaging content.

Reporting and analysis (12%)

i. Discuss and develop strategies for content optimization and improved web traffic.
ii. Prepare and monitor analytics report and user engagement.
iii. Adopt adequate measures to save time and meet deadlines.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field, or proven work experience as Social Media Strategist, Social Media Marketer, or similar role.

Excellent social and organizational skills.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Highly motivated and goal-oriented.

Excellent multitasking skills.

Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving ability
